Christmas Market on Fraueninsel 2026
Advent on Lake Chiemsee. And we’re right in the thick of it.
A boat on Lake Chiemsee in winter. Festively lit huts, lovingly crafted handicrafts and the special magic of a small island. On the first two weekends of Advent, Fraueninsel is transformed into one of Bavaria’s most atmospheric Christmas markets.
In 2026, we’ll be there for the first time with our very own hut. Together with our golf resort, Resort Das Achental, we’ll be bringing a touch of our hospitality to the island. We’re particularly delighted about this.
Incidentally, we have a very special connection to Fraueninsel: the handmade tiles for our wood-burning stoves come from the Klampfleuthner pottery on the island. A piece of traditional island craftsmanship that has also found a home at the Chiemgauhof.

Cuisine and hospitality
This year, we’re taking part in the Christmas market ourselves. At our shared stall, we’ll be serving crispy rösti – either savoury with salmon, horseradish and sour cream, or in a sweet version. To go with it, we’ll have classic mulled wine and, for those who prefer something a little more sparkling, champagne served in an original stone jug.
Fine cuisine, a connection to the region and relaxed hospitality. We look forward to welcoming guests, locals and friends of the Chiemgauhof to Fraueninsel.

An Advent break by the lake
Combine a visit to the Christmas market with a short break at Lake Chiemsee. If you stay with us for at least two nights during one of the two market weekends, we’ll organise and cover the cost of a private shuttle to the jetty and a boat trip with Chiemsee Schifffahrt for your excursion to Fraueninsel. A glass of champagne in an original stone jug will also be waiting for you at our chalet.
