To inspire his teams and as a guiding principle for the architecture and surroundings, Matteo Thun painted a watercolour that captures and conveys the spirit of the Chiemgauhof. Light and playful, he sums up the design with just a few lines. The result is not just a building, but a way of life: open-plan layouts, natural materials and a seamless transition between indoors and outdoors.
The warm earth tones of the façade, the greenery of the surroundings and the blue of the water are all reflected in this design. Every brushstroke tells the story of the vision to create a retreat that blends effortlessly into the region – timeless, minimalist and with a deep respect for nature.

Matteo Thun and his five partners run his architecture and interior design studio, based in Milan and Munich. Since 1984, the studio has pursued a holistic and responsible design philosophy to create iconic designs, products and brand visions for a global clientele. Its interdisciplinary team of 70 architects, interior designers, product designers and graphic designers specialises in developing solutions that honour the ‘genius loci’, the unique spirit of a place.
